One Hour Sessions
Goal Time
This session is aimed at giving teachers easy ways to set individual student and group goals, measure progress, and monitor areas where a child needs more support. Example Goal and Progress Sheets will be given to the teachers for their personal use.
This session is appropriate for preschool, elementary and special education classrooms.
Developing Early Literacy Skills
This session is designed to give teachers ideas on how to set up their classroom to promote prereading skills, and how to use the toys and books loved by children to promote literacy.
This session is appropriate for preschool classrooms.
This session can be made into a two-hour session, with more material and approaches covered.
Recognizing and Supporting Developmental, Cognitive, and Emotional Delays
This session is designed to help teachers recognize when delays are present, when they are a cause for concern, and how to support the child. Also discussed are who, if anyone, this concern should be discussed with, what services are available to parents of said children, and what Texas Laws are regarding communication with parents and confidentiality issues.
This session is appropriate for preschool classrooms only.
Music, Movement and Learning
This session is designed to give teachers ways to teach specific concepts using music and movement, and an understanding of why this method is beneficial.
This session is appropriate for preschool classrooms.
Using Technology in the Classroom
This session is aimed at those classrooms that have access to iPads, or other tablets with Smart technology, and/or computers. Teachers will be given a list of relevant free sites and apps to use and how to easily incorporate them into their lessons.
This session is appropriate for preschool, elementary, middle school, and special education classrooms.
